The Hale Patre pair is back after three years. This time, Aindrita Ray will be seen onscreen with two Vijays for company in Rajani Kantha. With the actor taking up a dual role for the first time in his career, this film has a lot on offer for fans.
Sizzling chemistry In Junglee, Vijay and Aindrita sizzled onscreen with their chemistry. “We’ve been offered many films together after that, but they were all similar to Junglee in a sense.
I chose to do this because it has a really cute love story. The songs have been shot in Singapore and they are a hit with the audience already,” says Aindrita. Vijay adds that the hit pair’s return to the screen will be a big plus point. “I’m sure the audience is going to look forward to seeing us together. While the songs have been picturized well, they are different from Junglee so the audience won’t be disappointed,” he says.
Real inspiration Vijay, who essays two roles — one of which is a character who is born with a cleft palate — says that this was an extremely challenging role that he took on. “When director Pradeep Raj told me about this second character, I followed the mannerisms and body language of a close friend of mine who has a cleft palate,” says the actor. Word has it that there is a triangular love story between the two brothers played by Vijay, and Aindrita. Prod her and she says, “The story is interesting, is all I’ll say. You’ll have to watch the film to see if there is a triangular love story. But the role I play is fun. It is of an innocent girl who is gullible and falls for the pranks played by one of the brothers.”
Lesser action This film is going to present another first for Vijay’s fans because there will be very little action. “It isn’t like there is no action, there is as much as the film requires,” says Vijay, who adds that this film is a family entertainer with a ‘classy touch’. Aindrita adds, “This film is going to work well with the masses. There is a cute love story, as well as a mother-son sentiment and then, there is the bond between the two brothers.”
