Veteran actor Leelavathi who had recently constructed a primary health care centre at Solladevanahalli in Nelmangala Taluk, is now constructing a veterinary hospital.
A bhoomi puja ceremony was held to construct a veterinary hospital which comes up in the same vicinities. Leelavathi son Vinod Raj had said, “We have done our service to the humanity by constructing a hospital. It’s now time to do our bit to animals which is why we have decided to construct a veterinary hospital which will treat animals and birds.”
Leelavathi said, “I wanted to do something for animals so I have decided to construct an hospital dedicated to animals. I request CM Basavaraj Bommai to depute doctors once the work is done.”
The actress who is around 85-year-old is suffering from age related illness. She was confined to bed in the last few months. She is currently residing at her farmhouse near Nelmangala.
Leelavathi made her debut with the movie Nagakannike by portraying the role of Sakhi. She went on to act with 600 movies across South Indian langaugues.
