Veteran Kannada actor Leelavathi no more
Veteran actor Leelavathi breathed her last today at a hospital in Nelamangala. The 85-year-old actress was suffering from a prolonged illness. Leelavathi’s son Vinod Raj is also an actor.
Some of her memorable films include, Nanda Deepa, Kulavadhu, Veerakesari, Sipayi Ramu, Gejje Pooje, Auto Raja, Premaloka. She was last seen in a 2009 film, Yaaradhu along with her son, Vinod Raj.
A kind-hearted actress who had constructed a primary health care centre at Solladevanahalli in Nelmangala Taluk, is now constructing a veterinary hospital.
In June, she also lent her helping hand to construct a veterinary hospital. In the foundation laying ceremony, Leelavathi had said, “I wanted to do something for animals, so I have decided to construct a hospital dedicated to animals.”
Her mortal remains will be kept for public viewing at Ambedkar Stadium in Nelamangala
