Prajwal Devaraj had revealed in a recent exclusive chat with ETimes Kannada that he would be collaborating with Telugu filmmaker Hari Prasad Jakka for a crime thriller. Titled '
Gana
', the film was to take off after Prajwal wrapped up 'Mafia' and now, as per the latest reports, the team of 'Gana' has roped in actress
Vedhika to play the female lead in the film.
A former model, Vedhika began her acting career in Tamil cinema in the year 2006 and following a period of moderate success, she found acclaim and fame for her roles in films like 'Pardesi' and 'Kaaviya Thalaivan'. In Kannada, she began her journey with 'Sangama' alongside Ganesh and later starred in 'Shivalinga' opposite
Shiva Rajkumar. She was last seen in 'Gowdru Hotel' in 2017.
Coming back to 'Gana', the same reports reveal that actor
Archana Kottige too will be playing a key role in the film. Archana Kottige, who began her career in 2018 with 'Aranyakanda', will also be seen in films like 'Shabari Searching for Raavana' and 'Alankar Vidyarthi' alongside Pramod.
Hariprasad Jakka
has previously worked on films like '1: Nenokkadine' and '100% Love' with filmmaker Sukumar and later made his directorial debut with the Telugu film 'Darshakudu'. 'Gana' will be his Kannada debut and the makers are currently planning on taking the film on floors sometime in February of 2021.
