Actor
Upendra has joined the sets of the Telugu sports-drama, 'Ghani'. The new film stars
Varun Tej and Saiee Manjrekar in the lead roles with actors Suniel Shetty,
Jagapathi Babu, and Naveen Chandra - along with Upendra - playing important roles in the film. Upendra role in the film, however, is being kept under the wraps.
The second schedule of the film's shoot got underway recently in Hyderabad which Upendra will be a part of. 'Ghani' is being directed by Kiran Korrapati with Allu Bobby and Sidhu Mudda bankrolling it and releasing it under the Renaissance Pictures banner(in association with Allu Bobby's own banner).
Varun Tej will be seen playing a boxer in the film for which he has had to train rigorously under the tutelage of Tony David Jefferies, the 2008 British Olympic medalist. The actor shared an interesting-looking picture of a boxing ring along with the caption that said "Work Station for the next few months!".
For actor Upendra, this would be a return to Telugu cinema after six long years, having last appeared in the 2015 film 'S/O Satyamurthy' alongside Allu Arjun. Despite being a superstar in the Kannada industry, Upendra is no stranger to Telugu cinema and has featured in a number of successful films. On the other hand, he is slated to begin work on '
Kabzaa
' on February 26th and will be part of a long forty-day schedule.
