Upendra as Dr Modi

Director Uday Prakash has been working on a script for the last year or so - one that appeals to Upendra the star and Upendra the real life philosopher. And finally, nailed it it. The duo plan to start shooting for their film Dr Modi later this year. "There could not have been a more apt actor for a role like this. Nobody other than Upendra could have done this role, as he is very much like the character in the movie," says director Prakash.
While the title may point to our prime minister, Prakash insists there is not direct reference. "But, the thoughts of our hero is that of a revolutionists'. He speaks of the things that our PM speaks of. However, it is not a biographical representation in any way," he says.
Other announcements on cast and crew will be made on the actor's birthday on September 18.
