Upendra and Ravichandran’s upcoming film gets a new title

The title of the

upcoming Kannada film

, which features actors Upendra and Ravichandran in

lead roles

, has been changed from ‘Ravichandra’ to ‘Veda Vyasa’. Helmed by director Om Prakash Rao, the project began some time in 2018.

The movie – which is the official remake of the Telugu film, ‘Balupu’ – sees Upendra and Ravichandran sharing screen space for the first time. They play brothers in the film. The movie also stars actors Shanvi Srivastava, Aditi Arya and Nimika Ratnakar. Music for the film is composed by Arjun Janya.

According to reports, shooting for the film has begun again, after months-long halt due to the pandemic and the

subsequent lockdowns

. The makers, cast and crew members are said to be following all precautionary measures to ensure everyone’s safety on the set. According to producer Kanakpuara Srinivas, Rs 20 lakh is being spent almost every day for the shooting, which is underway at Lalit Ashok in Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, Upendra will also resume shooting for his upcoming movie, ‘

Kabza

’, the narrative of which is based on an underworld subject. Director R Chandru had earlier told us that they had planned to resume shooting in August. But due to an increase in the number of positive Covid-19 cases, it has been pushed to September. He had also said that it is his first attempt to make pan-India film.

Before the lockdown was imposed, shooting for ‘Kabza’ had begun after 18 huge sets were installed. The project is also being made in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Bengali. Actors Jagapathi Babu, Kota Srinivas Rao and Ravi Kishan will be seen in significant roles in the film. The makers are yet to finalise the heroine of the movie.
