Udgharsha’s leading man revealed

The posters of Sunil Kumar Desai’s next, Udgharsha, piqued everyone’s interest, since they are unlike regular ones that clearly show you who the lead actors are. There is no sign of the leading man in the posters that have been released so far. In fact, in the two years that the film has been in the making, the hero has been a closely guarded secret. The team has now revealed that their leading man is Thakur Anoop Singh.
Sunil spotted Anoop at an event, and thought that his look and physique perfectly matched what he was looking for in his protagonist. “Seeing how dedicated he is to the movie convinced me that I made the right decision. There are several risky shots in the film, for which a body double could have been used, but Anoop insisted on doing it himself. He’s also been consistent with his look — he’s maintained the same hairstyle, moustache and body — to ensure continuity.”
Anoop, who has played the antagonist in Telugu and Tamil films, was surprised that Sunil approached him to play the lead. “I liked the story, and asked Sunil sir who the lead actor is. I was surprised when he said it would be me, because I didn’t think that I look like a hero… not until now, that is,” says Anoop.
