to make his Kannada film debut to star alongside Ravichandran. According to an entertainment daily,

, who is teaming up with

Crazy Star Ravichandran

for a period drama has added Jamie Alter to the star cast and this addition also marks Jamie's Kannada debut. Interestingly, Jamie's father noted actor Tom Alter was seen in director MS Sathyu's Kannada film,

Kanneshwara Rama

.

The daily further reports that the film is set in the 1850s during the British and Portuguese rule in India and is based on a true incident, which will show Ravichandran as a Kannada scholar who comes from a family of writers. And, Jamie Alter would be seen in the role of Reverend Ferdinand Kittel, a priest and Indologist known for procuring knowledge about the language and for producing a Kannada-English dictionary. This story comes from the director's passion and love for Kannada language.

The daily also quoted Jamie saying that he is super excited to come to Bengaluru to start shooting for the film and he would be flying down to the city next month.
