Ugadi is not just the beginning of a new year in the Hindu calendar; it also symbolises a fresh start and opportunities for growth. For our Ugadi special, three young talents from the Kannada film industry share with us the new paths they aim to explore for hosa varusha.

CHALLENGING MYSELF TO BALANCE SINGING AND ACTING THIS YEAR: DHANYAThis Ugadi, I have taken a pledge to take up singing professionally. I will be juggling it alongside acting and have also started working on an exciting project. I will be announcing it soon because my family and friends have been constantly nudging me to share it with the world. I love singing and it sparks a lot of joy in me.

HONING MY DANCING SKILLS THIS YEAR: PRUTHVIBefore I became an actor, I was a student of Indian martial arts and dance. I was self taught and had never sought professional help. When I forayed into films, I forgot my first love. This Ugadi, I will take up Kalaripayattu professionally along with dance lessons.

I’M FOCUSING ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP THIS YEAR: SIRI I am really looking forward to becoming an entrepreneur this year. What adds to my excitement is the fact that my work will be linked to our kitchens and age-old food traditions. Ugadi is the perfect occasion because it will blend tradition with this goal.
