These Navaratri creations celebrate the royal woman
An off-beat campaign for the festive season has actors like Dhanya Ramkumar, Amrutha Iyengar, Samyuktha Hegde embodying royal households from across the country
Navaratri is a special occasion in many households, but what makes it doubly so is that it celebrates and upholds the spirit of womanhood. And designer Bhargavi Vikyathi is doing just that, but with a difference. “Since Navaratri is associated with Devi, most creative folk like putting a spin along these lines and designing concepts around the theme of dressing up like the divine feminine. But I wanted to steer clear of these cliches. Hence, my latest campaign for the festive season has actors embodying royalty. They represent royal households from around the country including Maharashtra, Karnataka and other places and are a judicious mix from both north and south India,” shares Bhargavi.
Actors who are part of the campaign and portray different avatars include Dhanya Ramkumar, Amrutha Iyengar, Samyuktha Hegde, Karunya Ram, Sukrutha Wagle, Kushee Ravi, Reeshma Nanaiah and Hitha Chandrashekar.
“One of them is proficient in warfare, the other is an advocate of love, another is an artiste… so we have shown the unique aspects of each of these princesses and celebrated womanhood collectively,” states Bhargavi who has styled, designed and scripted the concept.
Navathaar, as the project is called, will unveil the look of each of these actors all the way until the end of Navaratri.
