The biggest challenge for a newbie is to crack an audition: Manisha Kandkur

Newbie Manisha Kandkur is set to make her Sandalwood debut opposite Darling Krishna, in Brat. The Kannadiga incidentally first faced the camera for a Telugu film called Bhale Unnade. “I would have loved to make my acting debut in a Kannada film, but destiny had other plans. I’ve been auditioning for roles in Kannada films for the past five years, but nothing worked out. I’d auditioned for roles in director Shashank sir’s previous films too, but could not crack them. When he finally said I would fit into this role in Brat, I was thrilled.” On the challenges newcomers face in the film industry, Manisha says, “Auditioning in both Kannada and Telugu has been tough. I had to wait with patience and perseverance till I got my first break. After you crack an audition, comes the next challenge, to make a mark as an actor on screen. I am looking forward to do that on the Kannada movie screen.”
