“I loved trying out the cuisines in Kozhikode, be it their savouries or the sweets with Arabic influence. Exotic and flavourful is what comes to mind,” she tells us.

The beaches are another attraction and Shwetha is happy to share that they were all clean and inviting. “Then we headed to Kannur and visited the various temples that the region is famous for. The Pazhassinakadavu Muthappan temple was so enigmatic. It was indeed my fortune to witness the Theyyam ritual that is unique to this temple. The energy is mind-blowing and it has stayed with me since,” states Shwetha.

The actor also visited a boat-making yard and was riveted by the sight. “Each mega boat costs over Rs 40 crore and they told me that the rich sheikhs in the Middle East commission these. I bought a miniature instead,” she laughs.
