Telly stars take up relief work for Kodagu and Kerala floods
Ever since tragedy struck Kerala and then Kodagu, social media has been highly active with regard to the incident. Facts, figures, support, solutions are being offered aplenty. Back home, our telly stars have also been an integral part of the relief operations. Shweta Prasad and buddies Anupama Gowda and Krishi Thapanda, among many others, have been keenly involved in the process.
1x1 polls

Shweta Prasad: When I got to know about the Kerala floods, I posted a message, to which people responded and we managed to send two trucks to our neighbouring state. Soon, we got to know that Kodagu was also in dire straits. I met volunteers and we found a few people who offered to head to Kodagu. Since my work schedule doesn’t permit me to be away for long durations, I couldn’t go personally to assist with relief operations. I have been in touch with the team that is working in remote areas where help is most needed. At such times, it’s the basics that matter most: drinking water, clothes, food and sanitation supplies.
Anupama Gowda: I got to know about the Kodagu tragedy through Krishi. We joined the Kodava Samaj’s efforts and visited Madikeri town. We then got to know that in some relief centres, supplies were in excess, whereas in places like Napoklu, where Krishi hails from, nothing had reached. We spent two days in Napoklu doing our best. As we were sorting through the materials sent by people, Krishi and I found items like fairness creams and used clothes. It’s sad that people send these things We’re back now, but we go to the Kodava Samaj often to help with relief work.
