Teena Ponnappa returns to Sandalwood

Teena Ponnappa has been away from Sandalwood for a while now, but the actress is all set to make her comeback with Pradeep Verma’s Gulaabi Street. Ask her if taking a break was a conscious decision, and she says, “I was busy doing films in the Malayalam and Tamil film industries. Some Kannada filmmakers had approached me, but I was looking for a really good script. That’s when I signed Red, in which I have been paired with Karthik Shetty, and along came Gulaabi Street, which is a film that I am very excited about.”
The actress said that she had read a lot on social media about the latter and was surprised when she was called for an audition.“I got a call and grabbed the role. Luckily, I was on a schedule break from Red and could give time to it,” says Teena, adding that she’s lucky to have got such a challenging role.
