There seems to be no end in sight for Bengaluru's fascination with the vivacious Sunny Leone. The Bollywood actress, who was in the city on Saturday to promote her next Hindi film One Night Stand, captured the attention of the media and public alike, when she interacted with them at a five-star hotel in Domlur. Sunny, who arrived in the city earlier that day, was given a grand welcome by the hotel ' it was her and husband Daniel Weber's wedding anniversary, so they were taken in on a horse-drawn chariot and a colourful baarat.
While the surprise left Daniel in awe, it left Sunny in tears.
The film, Sunny explained, is not only about one-night stands, but about one such incident that turns the lives of the lead characters around. She says, 'In real life, whether a person is OK with having a one-night stand or not is totally a personal choice. Whether it is wrong or right depends on the people involved. But in this movie, it is a mistake for the lead actors to have indulged in it. In the film, the physical act causes emotional turmoil not only for the two involved, but for everyone around them.'
She adds, 'The shooting experience was definitely not the usual for me. This wasn't an easy film to act in, because I didn't relate to my character. I had a lot of discussions with director Jasmine D'souza, which helped me shape my character better than the way I had in mind. I believe Jasmine has managed to bring out one of my best performances till date.'
On the occasion of her wedding anniversary, Sunny spoke about how her perception of marriage hasn't changed much over the years. She said, 'I don't have that relationship in which I feel that everything has changed after I got married. My marriage is truly a fairytale story in the sense that things are pretty much the same, and we are still madly in love with each other. Do we have issues? Yes, just like everyone else. Do we argue and bicker? Of course we do! But that doesn't mean we love each other any less. I'm lucky I married my best friend.'
The Bollywood bombshell was last seen in
Sandalwood with a cameo and in a song in last year's Kannada film Luv U Alia. Speaking about working in film industries other than Bollywood, Sunny says, 'I love working in South industries. It's a lot of fun, people are nice, and the industries and their professionalism are a little different than Bollywood, but in a good way. When people here say schedule starts at 9, it starts at 9. When it's said that lunch is at 1, it's at 1. When shoot is expected to wrap up at 9, it's over by 9. And the crowd here is very nice and receptive too. So far, we've been to a couple of places and it's been a very pleasant experience.'
Has she made any friends from the Kannada film industry after her Luv U Alia cameo? 'No. Not really. I have acquaintances yes, but not friends. I got to know some of them during the shoot of Luv U Alia, but that was that. Hopefully, when I sign a film here, I'll have more friends from this city,' she signs off with a disarming smile.
