Actor-turned-politician Sumalatha Ambareesh has expressed her grief over the death of Jamuna on her social media pages. Jamuna who was 86 passes away on Friday morning.
Sumalath’s post on her social media pages reads, “ The news of the demise of multilingual actress Jamuna has saddened me. She has acted in many languages including Kannada. As an actress, as a politician, the contribution she has given to this land is immense. My condolences on the demise of Mother Jamuna. His cinema and social works are alive forever.
I had a very close relationship with Jamuna, 43 years ago when I was 15. She crowned me a beauty queen title. She is the first actress to predict about my life by saying You have a good future..”
Jamuna has also acted in Kannada movies like Adarsha Sathi(1995), Tenali Ramakrishna(1956), Boo Kailasa(1856), Ratnagiri Rahasya(1957), Sakshathakara(1971), Maayeya Musuku(1980) and Police Mathu Dada(1991).
She was born on August 30, 1936, in Hampi in Karnataka she completed her school education in Duggirala of Guntur. She started her acting career with stage performances and made her screen debut with Puttillu in 1952. It was Missamma (1955) which gave her a major break. In her acting career, she has acted in over 150 films in various languages.
