It is an example of an iconic film. It is like that wire that is carrying electricity, which creates a difference, but cannot be touched. One cannot reproduce something like that.

The essence of the characters of Naagarahaavu are such that people related to them back then, still do and will, say, even 20 years later. When Santosh Ananddram narrated a script to me, he told me that the character was influenced by Ramachari of Naagarahaavu. My first thought was the song Haavina Dwesha and how much I loved that character. When we worked on Mr and Mrs Ramachari, it gave me great joy and pride that I was doing a character like the one Vishnu sir had done. I have seen and loved the original. The fact that we are, today, talking about it goes to show its power.
