Taking up every plausible project and giving away random dates to different filmmakers till he has no idea what he has promised to whom and when is not Sudeeps style. While he maybe committed to several projects at a time, he doesnt like to flit from one set to the other. I dont want to have too many films in hand and then mess them all up.
When I am working on one film, I dont look at anything else, says
Sudeep.
And hence, the actor is currently working only on his next Telugu outing, SS Rajamoulis Eega, in Hyderabad, even though Vishnuvardhana with Priya Mani and Bhavana is near completion with only a couple of songs left to be shot. I think the filmmakers have forgotten about the songs. I recently got to see the first edit of the film. I had certain reservations about the film, but now, having seen it, I must say I liked what I saw. Its a comedy thats turned out into an out and out entertainer, says the actor, whose next film will most likely be Varadhanayaka with Chiranjeevi Sarja. The film sees Sudeep play a cop and brother to Chirus character.
Thats a film I am doing only for Chiru. Hes like a brother to me and deserves success. I am trying to help him in my way, he says. Interestingly, Sudeep hasnt known Chiru for long. Sometimes, relationships are not based on the number of years youve known each other. I believe I know Chiru well enough in two years.
In the meantime, Sudeep is also in discussions for two other films that are of interest to him. But didnt he not long ago write on his micro-blogging page that he was contemplating quitting acting? That I need to stop acting at some point is still at the back of my mind. Im not enjoying the work Im doing. Thats not to say they are all bad films. There are some that are really good. Its just that I dont like work to get monotonous. I need to do new things that excite me, says Sudeep and elaborates, In my 16 years in the industry, I have had my ups and downs. Today I have a name and fame. I wonder how long it will take to lose it all. I wouldnt want to see such a day. I dont want other people, like the younger crop of actors, telling me to retire. I want to call it a day when things are still good and leave on a high.
