Funnyman Danish Sait’s debut feature film, Humble Politician

Nograj

, directed by Saad Khan, has been creating a lot of buzz ever since it was announced. It will be releasing later this month. While Danish and Sumukhi Suresh, who plays his love interest, are the leading couple in the film playing slightly over-the-top, caricature roles, there's another pair who play the part of a pragmatic, level-headed couple who are unhappy with the general state of affairs. The roles of Arun and Rama Patil are played by Roger Narayan and Sruthi Hariharan respectively.
Speaking about their roles,

Sruthi

says, “Arun and Rama Patil are the voice of reason in this movie. They are an

couple who have moved back to India and are constantly frustrated by civic woes, ineffective administration, etc., in their city. They go through exactly what most of us do in real life, and provide a good contrast to the leading pair.”

Talking about her co-star, Sruthi says, “Roger is a fantastic actor. He’s spontaneous and improvizes a lot while on the film set, which is very different from how I’m used to working. So it took about 2-3 days and lot of conversations for us to be on the same page, but once we were, it was a breeze.”
While most of the roles in the film have a funny side to them, Sruthi’s character does not, and she’s quite happy about it. “Comedy really scares me, and it’s definitely not my forte, so I was quite comfortable with this role. It was an easy character to play,” she says, adding, “What my character lacked in humour, was adequately made up for by the entire cast. Saad’s impeccable timing, Danish's slapstick humour and Vijay Chendoor’s (who plays the peon Manjunath) reactions left us in splits most of the time. The film's shooting was absolute madness.”
