Having acted in Malayalam and Telugu films, actress Sowmya Menon has now stepped into Sandalwood with the movie Hunter, marking her debut here. She shares screen space with Niranjan Sudhindra in the Vinay Krishna directorial.
A MESSAGE ABOUT WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENTIt was the women’s empowerment angle that was most attractive for Sowmya. Apart from that, “the movie has romantic, action and thriller elements which also offers enough scope,” she says, adding: “I have also picked up a few Kannada words during the course of shooting and would love to learn the language thoroughly.”
Talking about her character she says, “It’s a bubbly character, but my role gets serious in the second half as I join Niranjan for a cause.”
Even before the release of her first film in Sandalwood, she’s already signed up for her second.
On working in different film industries, she says: “Except for the difference in southern languages. I feel cinema is the same and I am glad that the people I worked with treated me well.”
