Sowmya Jaganmurthy and Pruthvi Ambaar to star in a comedy thriller

An upcoming dark comedy thriller, Dollarspete, will bring together Pruthvi Ambaar and Sowmya Jaganmurthy in important roles. The movie is director Mohan’s debut project in Sandalwood and is inspired by a real incident that happened in Tamil Nadu.
"The entire story is set in a fictional place called Dollarspete. Around `5 lakh gets misplaced in a bank. The story narrates the search for this money. Apart from Pruthvi and Sowmya, there are five major characters in the movie, including newcomers Kushal and Dattu," he said. Talking about Pruthvi’s role, Mohan said he is an important cog in the entire plot. "Pruthvi hails from Goa and is trained in mixed martial arts. He fights for money and gets caught up in the web of uncertainties, leading to a major breakthrough in the storyline. Pruthvi has worked on his physique to fit into the character. He is usually seen in romantic roles. We have changed his look completely. He has also performed high-octane action sequences, which will be a first for him," said Mohan.

He added that Sowmya will also be playing a performance-oriented character. "She plays a pregnant bank cashier. The hassle with the money happens just as she is about to go on leave to deliver the baby. But she handles the challenging circumstances and keeps the story engaging," he said.
