Kollywood woke up to sad news as Actor Ajith Kumar's father P Subramaniam passed away in Chennai due to ill health. P Subramaniam is a Malayali from Palakkad, Kerala, and is 85 years old. He is survived by his wife Mohini and three children Anup Kumar, Ajith Kumar , and Anil Kumar. Condolence messages from the Tamil film fraternity and the fans of actor Ajith Kumar have been pouring in on social media. The star actor is on a holiday with his wife Shalini and kids in Dubai and is expected to reach Chennai soon.

Sandalwood actor and activist Chetan Kumar, who was arrested for his offensive tweet against Hindutva, was granted bail on Thursday. A local court in Bengaluru released him on a surety of two persons and a Rs 25,000 bond. He was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days after he was arrested by Seshadripuram police.

Manju Warrier will play the lead role in the directorial debut of well-known editor Saiju Sreedharan, who is known for his work in hit movies like 'Ancham Pathira', 'Kumbalangi Nights', 'Maheshinte Prathikaram' etc. A making style known as Found Footage will be used for the movie, which is a first in Malayalam cinema. Saiju Sreedharan will also be the movie's editor. Others including Vishakh Nair, Gayathri Asok, Mammokoya, Nanjiamma, et al will be part of the movie. The music and background score is by Sushin Shyam.
