After a long hiatus, Sandalwood’s
Sonu Gowda is back with a suspense thriller called Tenant, directed by debutante director
Sridhar. The entire film will be played out in a house in Bengaluru with only a few characters, played by
Dharma Keerthiraj, Ugramm Manju,
Tilak Shekar
and
Rakesh Maiya.
Sonu Gowda says, “It’s an intriguing storyline which drew me in. I play Damini who stays in a house as a tenant. The story, which spans two days, revolves around the concept of how important it is to check the background of a person while renting out a house in order to prevent anti-social activities. There are only montage songs in the film. I am excited to shoot next week.”
The actress has also signed Wedding Gift, which touches upon issues pertaining to women like safety, dowry, and alimony. “Laws which are meant to uplift women, but are misused, will be brought to the fore in Wedding Gift. It’s not a conscious decision to act only in women-oriented subjects. It’s a sheer coincidence that I am getting such performance-driven roles.”
Sonu further adds that she will soon resume shooting for Shalini IPS, based on the life of IAS officer
