Ever since she resumed shooting,
Sonal Monteiro has been quite the busy bee. The actress, who was in the midst of shooting for four films before the pandemic disrupted her schedule, has been working on completing them, while also taking up new work. Sonal recently finished
Shambo Shiva Shankara
and has now signed up to be a part of
Gajanooru, which has
Avatar
in the lead role.
The new film, incidentally, is named after the birthplace of late Kannada thespian Dr Rajkumar and is being helmed by Vijay, who had worked as an associate for filmmaker
Nanda Kishore.
Sonal says, “I play an innocent girl from a village, who heads to the city in search of a bright future. But then, an unexpected event changes things around for her. There is a love story and suspense element in the plot, which will add an unpredictable twist to the story. The movie will be shot in and around pristine locations of Shivamogga and will also have Ravishankar, Tabla Nani and Kuri Prathap in significant roles.”
The actress is looking at the new year with a lot of positivity. "I thought 2020 would be a milestone in my career, as I had
Natwarlal,
Talwarpete,
Banaras and
Budhivantha 2 in the pipeline, but everything got stalled. I have high hopes of this year, as I will not only be completing my Kannada films, but will also begin working on my
Punjabi cinema debut
, in which I will be paired opposite Gurdass Maan,” says Sonal.
