Sonal Monteiro on board Darshan’s next film

Sonal Monteiro can now officially rejoice one of the biggest high points of her career. The Mangalurean lass is on board the Darshan-starrer Roberrt with a rather prominent role in the film. “In fact, I had shot for the film way back in May when the film was announced, but I had strict instructions from Tharun sir (the director) to not reveal my being part of the project.He wanted to announce it at an opportune moment and I’m glad that I can finally announce it and soak in the joy of being a part of such a mega project,” shares an upbeat Sonal.
“In fact, I’d often get calls when people saw me on location at the Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru and it was so tough to keep everything under wraps,” she quips. Sonal adds, “When Tharun sir called and said he’d like to meet me, I thought I’d have to give auditions. He had apparently liked my performance in my previous film Panchatantra. But I was pleasantly surprised when he said I was in and that was it. I reported for shooting soon after.”
The actor allays any notion of apprehension that Asha Bhat plays the leading lady and says she’s content with her role. “Until now, I’ve only played the main lead in all my films. But Roberrt is such a big film and my role is such that it’s bound to stay memorable in the minds of audiences, so I just couldn’t say no. I’m thrilled to be part of a film with Darshan sir and to be directed by Tharun sir. This film will definitely take me places,” rounds up Sonal.
