SK Bhagwan honoured

Veteran director SK Bhagwan will be conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award. The award is given by the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy, Mumbai to film personalities for their contribution to Indian cinema.
The 83-year-old director was part of the Dorai-Bhagawan duo who directed 49 films. Of these, 24 were based on Kannada novels. Thirty-two of them starred Rajkumar and six had Ananth Nag in the lead.The duo were known for adapting poems of famous Kannada authors in their films. Their films include the Bond series, Bayalu Daari, Chandanad Gombe, Hosa Belaku, Samayada Gombe and Jeevana Chaitra.
