Playback singer
Ananya Bhat, who also dabbles with acting occasionally, is currently working on her third movie in
Sandalwood. Called
Senapura, it will be directed by debutant Guru Savan and the film, she says, has been inspired by true incidents.
Ananya says, “Even though I have been getting offers on and off, nothing really impressed me. But when this film came to me, I was quite intrigued, as it is based on true events.
In the film, I play a social worker called Radha who works for an NGO. I believe it is a character that will haunt audiences.”
Director Guru Savan says, “Two decades ago, there was news about a group of people who would steal Manganese from trucks to help the poor in Kundapura, Byndoor and Bhatkal region. With
Senapura, we are throwing light on such incidents.” The film also has actors
Pavan Kumar, Giriraj B M, Parameshwar Guruswamy, Shekhar and Dinesh Mangaluru in prominent roles.
