Appe midi is one dish that Shwetha loves eating. The pickle is famous in Malnad regions of
Karnataka.
The actor shares her aunt’s simple recipe for the dish.
IngredientsSugar Mangoes 5 or 6
Onions chopped - 1/2 cup
Garlic and Ginger - as required
Chilli powder - 2 tablespoons
Jeera powder - 2 tablespoons
Mustard - 3 teaspoons
Jaggery powder - 4 teaspoons
Salt to taste
Asafoetida - 1 teaspoon
Cooking oil - few teaspoons
MethodWash and peel the mangoes and dry them. Add in the chopped onions, ginger, garlic and some jaggery. Put in salt, chilli powder, and jeera. Keep aside. Temper mustard seeds with a little asafoetida in oil. Add this to the mixute. Your dish is ready.
