Shraddha Srinath has begun shooting forher next in Tamil, a futuristic psychological thriller called Kaliyugam, which is set in 2050. “Besides the fact that this is a first for me, the crux of the matter is that not many such films are made in India, more so in the south. I liked that even though it is set in a dystopian era, the film has a rather realistic touch,” says Shraddha.

sees her playing a girl who is looking to survive the tough times and make it out on her own.
“The film is being directed by Pramod Sundar who is a newbie and it’s his vision that was most appealing,” she says. Tamil cinema is known to open new avenues to heroines who go solo. Is she looking forward to charting new territories as a
solo lead
? “I’m not looking to be stereotyped or typecast as an actor who only does solo projects. You can call this as a social experiment. Having been vocal about my stance on patriarchy, I’d like to see if people will come to see only Shraddha on screen, if I do a solo film. That would be interesting,” sums up Shraddha.
