Shivarajkumar steps into Rajkumar's shoes
It was way back in 1962 that Rajkumar played Kabir in Mahatma Kabir, and Kannada audiences will get to see his son, Shivarajkumar, as the mystic poet and saint in today's release ' Subrahmanyaa Productions'
There is a lot that we can learn from the teachings of Kabir. He speaks about love without religious interference, racism, or being based on how rich or poor a person is. Kabir spent his early life in a Muslim family, but was strongly influenced by his Hindu teacher, Ramananda. This is why he was not for any religion or race; he was only on the side of love ' love towards his parents, friends, his beloved and the people.
His dohas were the main reason I did this movie. Religion and language are the basis of many of our issues today. The trigger for the Hindu-Muslim discord existed even in Kabir's days as there was Mughal rule, and our present society needs to learn about love and affection towards fellow human beings from him. This is the perfect film for that.
There is a lot of happiness and emotions in
We had to speak the truth in this movie as it is about something that happened in the 14th Century. We couldn't have added anything extra like a comedy track, as that would be an addition simply for commercial purposes. We have only highlighted Kabir's life and what happens in the santhe, as that is relevant.
The visuals in the movie are something to look out for. To make the movie interesting for the big screen, we had to have good visuals. Also, the tunes by Ismail Darbar are very different. So, although this movie has a social message, it is one that can be enjoyed by all sections of the audience.
