Shivaji Surathkal 2 team on a picture-perfect shooting spree across state

Today, on Mahashivratri, the Shivaji Surathkal 2 team will unveil a new poster that will offer a peek into what people can expect from the second film in the franchise, Shivaji Surathkal - 2, The Mysterious Case of Mayaavi.
Around 40 per cent of the shooting for the film, which reunites director Akash Srivatsa and actor Ramesh Aravind, has already been completed across various parts of the state.
Akash reveals that this film will showcase more details of Shivaji's life. “We will see three generations of the Shivaji family coming together. His father, Vijendra Surathkal, played by thespian Nassar, makes his first appearance in this film. Also seen will be Siri Surathkal, Shivaji's daughter, whom he affectionately calls ‘Chukki’. How Shivaji came into the possession of Siri is another running theme in the film. What is noteworthy is that we also witness three different timelines in the film," explains Akash.
The team shot in some of the most picturesque and untapped locations across Karnataka’s coastal belt for over three weeks, including Surathkal, Malpe beach, Kapu beach, Marvanthe and Murdeshwara. The final leg of the schedule was shot in Yellapura forest. “The team scouted and filmed in places that are largely unexplored. Ramesh sir took a pleasant trip down memory lane as he reminisced shooting in these places for his many hit films," shares Akash.
The film has a big ensemble cast with new members joining the team which wants to give youngsters a platform. Another interesting aspect is the technical crew. “Darshan M Ambat, son of legendrary cinematographer Madhu Ambat, has joined as the cinematographer. He has handled the camera for a couple of Malayalam and Telugu films. This is his Kannada debut. Nakul Abhayankar is scoring the music," reveals Akash.
