Shanvi Srivastava replaces Rachita Ram in Dinesh Baboo's next

Not long ago,

veteran filmmaker Dinesh Baboo

's 50th film,

Kasturi Nivasa

, was announced amid much fanfare, with the team announcing that Rachita Ram would be in the lead. But within days, it had not one but two changes, for starters, the filmmaker respected requests from fans of the late matinee idol Rajkumar and changed the title, and second, leading lady Rachita realised she had scheduling issues and could not, after all, be a part of it. There is no clarity on the new title, with sources saying that the maker is toying with options like Kasturi, Kasturi Mahal and Kasturi Nilaya.

Rachita was to join the team in early October to film the paranormal subject, and her departure made it seem that their plans would go awry. But with the makers signing up Shanvi Srivastava to replace Rachita, it appears that all will be well. This will be Shanvi’s second outing in a horror film, after her Sandalwood debut, Chandralekha, in which she was paired with the late actor Chiranjeevi Sarja.

, has been spending the lockdown back home in Mumbai. She had flown down to Bengaluru recently to finish her portions for the Ravichandran and Upendra starrer film that is now called

Trishulam

Dinesh Baboo's film will be her first full-fledged film in the post-pandemic new normal. The actress, we hear, will be in Bengaluru in early October.
