Self-isolation gave Aishani Shetty time to fine-tune her new film script
Aishani Shetty, who was last seen in Nam Gani B.Com Pass, has used the lockdown to pursue her new passion for script-writing. In a chat with us, she shares her experience of being in Sandalwood for the past six years, her interest in writing and more.

Tell us about the script you wrote...
I have been a huge fan of romantic films, and my script is a beautiful love story that I fine-tuned during the lockdown. I hope it reaches the silver screen someday.
You come from a non-filmi background. What’s your mantra to pick roles?
In every film that I have done, I have ensured the character and storyline appeal to me. I’ve just tried to pick roles that are not similar to how I am in real life.

Tell us about your roles in Hondisi Bariyiri and Dharani Mandala Madhyadolage…
In Hondisi Bariyiri, I play an ambitious and adamant engineering student, who aspires to become a scientist. Dharani Mandala Madhyadolage, on the other hand, has me play a drug addict. I was preparing for this role when the lockdown was imposed. I had even changed my hair colour for it.

. I came into films while I was still studying. Later, I even directed a short film, titledKaaji

now. Yes, there is excitement to start shooting again, but the recent spike in positive cases is scary. I hope all precautionary measures are taken for cast and crew members when we are back on set. Actors are among the susceptible lot, because we can’t be wearing PPEs all the time.In Hondisi Bariyiri, I play an ambitious and adamant engineering student, who aspires to become a scientist.
