Sarath Kumar set to play Ishaan’s father

Director Pavan Wadeyar’s upcoming Raymo, which has Ishaan CV and Ashika Ranganath in the lead, has another addition to its cast. The filmmaker tells us that he now has actor-politician R Sarath Kumar on board to play Ishaan’s father in the film. “One of the pivotal characters in Raymo is that of the hero’s father, which Sarath Kumar sir plays. His character, Sri Deshpande, is a very wealthy and powerful man from Karnataka.I had written the character as a very strong person, with a certain gravitas and needed an actor who was just apt. I found that in Sarath Kumar sir,” says Pavan.
This is the director’s first collaboration with Sarath, which almost did not happen. “When I first approached him for the role, although he was aware about my filmography, he was skeptical about the fact that the character had a slight negative shade. He liked the fact that the character brings about a beautiful twist in the narrative, but it was only after I met him and explained the reason for the characterisation that his fears were allayed, and he agreed to be a part of the film. He is currently shooting for his sequences in a 10-day schedule with the team,” adds Pavan.
