Sanjjanaa's connection with Malaika Arora-Khan
There is an almost zen-like sense of calm, contentment and satisfaction when actress Sanjjanaa speaks about her life now ' a feeling she attributes to her intense pursuit of yoga. 'After nearly a decade in the industry, I am at a phase in my career that I am very comfortable in. I have a handful of films in my kitty, work really hard during the day, and then come back home to be in my own space. I also work out for 2-3 hours a day and have a very disciplined and dedicated existence. After doing over 30 films, I know that I have created a niche for myself in the south Indian film industry. I am very punctual on the set and show the utmost sincerity in my work, but for that, I expect to receive a certain respect from everyone around me,' says the actress.

, a film about a bunch of youngsters who arrive in Bengaluru to try their luck in Sandalwood. The actress plays a hot-and-happening item girl called Devayani, who is a superstar in her own right. 'She is diva who lives in her own shell of stardom. She doesn't have a normal life and doesn't care about the rest of the world. The level of stardom she has is such that everyone wants her ' either to woo her or cast her in film, but as an item girl. There are roles that are meant for her. If we were to draw a parallel, she would be like Malaika Arora-Khan ' there is no way we can imagine Deepika Padukone in Munni Badnaam Hui, for instance. Devayani is the kind who does her work and moves on in life. What happens to her when a struggling actor, played by Vihaan Gowda, who is madly in love with her, comes into her life, forms the rest of the story,' explains Sanjjanaa.Though the crux of the film is steeped in reality, what with several people arriving in Gandhinagar every day for a shot at a career in tinsel town, the actress says that Cinema My Darling has to be viewed for its entertainment quotient.
