has been roped in to play a role that is atypical to what people expect of her. Confirming this news, Sanjjanaa says, 'I play a very gritty, performance-oriented role in the film. Director Srinivas Raju was convinced that I should do this role, because he felt that no one has tapped into my ability to do non-glamorous roles till date.' The actress is elated to be a part of the sequel, considering that the original had won both critical acclaim and accolades, and is keen to work alongside its talented set of cast and crew.

Sanjjanaa also says that it was through the association with the now delayed Naati Koli that she got to know director Srinivas Raju. 'He was keen on showcasing me as a performer and believes that I could do justice to the role. He's an amazing person and technician and really knows what he is doing. Despite being someone who has returned from abroad, he understands the sensibilities of this region,' says the actress, who has begun shooting for her part in the film.
