Sandalwood's tryst with crime and punishment

Sandalwood is all set to look into the issue of crime and punishment in-depth. No, here we are not talking about the all time classic, Crime and Punishment, by the Russian author Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
The forthcoming Kannada film Kaligala is said to be centred around the issue of crime and punishment. While the director of the film is Om Saiprakash, Rayanna makes his entry into Sandalwood, as a producer with the film.The shooting of the film started almost a week back in Bangalore.
The film stars actor Saikumar, as a tough cop. The director of the film says Saikumar’s character has negative shades. Actor Srinivasamurthy plays a lawyer in the film, while Ramesh Bhat will be seen in the role of a police constable. Yoga and dance expert Kshama Singh makes her debut with the film.
Other in the cast include Roopika, Pavani, Chetan Rama Rao, Manmohan Roy, MN Lakshmi Devi, Akki Channabasappa and Padma Vasanthi. The director of the film says the film deals with the issue of crime and why punishment is the logical end to any crime.
