Sandalwood’s love for ‘imported’ heroines continues in 2019
This year will see quite a few new names entering the Kannada film industry, especially heroines. These girls have bagged themselves projects that are either most-talked-about or have good names associated with it. Here’s taking a look at some of the ladies you will get to see onscreen soon...
Sayyeshaa
Film: Yuvarathnaa
The Bollywood heroine, who has acted in Tamil and Telugu films, makes her foray into Kannada films with this Puneeth Rajkumar-starrer that brings together the Raajakumara team.
Aakanksha Singh
Film: Pailwaan
This Mumbai-based television actress, who has already made her foray into South India through Telugu films, is paired opposite Sudeep in this film, which sees the Hebbuli director and actor combination come back together.
Ronica Singh
Film: Gimmick
This Punjabi actress of Ramta Jogi fame is set to venture into South Indian films with this Ganesh film, which is said to be a horror comedy. Ronica wrapped up shooting for the film recently in Bengaluru.
Prayaga Martin
Film: Geetha
She is one among the many Malayalam girls who are lined up for a debut in Kannada films. Prayaga is one of the three heroines cast opposite Ganesh in a romantic film that happens over various time frames.
Sai Dhanshika
Film: Udhgarsha
She impressed everyone as Rajinikanth’s daughter in Kabali, what with her super stunts and antics. With Sunil Kumar Desai’s multilingual film, she is the protagonist who is ready to woo the Kannada audience.
Reba Monica John
Film: Untitled
This Malayalam actress has completed work on her debut Kannada film, in which she has a role that won Nayanthara a lot of applause in the Tamil original. From what we hear, Reba’s someone to look out for.
Patralekhaa
Film: Where Is My Kannadaka
The Bollywood actress is set to make her Kannada debut shortly, with the Ganesh-starrer. Again, Patralekhaa is someone who has a Bengaluru connect and she is thrilled that her first South Indian film is a Kannada one.
Parvathy Arun
Film: Geetha
Parvathy is another Malayalam import in Sandalwood, showing that Kerala seems to be a favourite place to scout for talent. She plays one of the three female leads in the Ganesh-starrer.

Essentially the so called sandalwood - kannada film industry is full of dumb, brainless producers and heroes who are relatives of producers and star actors. These ppl lack originality, self-pride, and busy making remake movies with the actors imported from elsewhere..... reason why most of the kannadigas wont watch sandalwood moviesRead allPost comment
