Yet, another update in the Sandalwood drug scandal case comes to light on Wednesday. According to TIMES NOW which has accessed the statement of a peddler who has been questioned by CCB, the peddler confirms drug links and has in fact, named both both
Ragini Dwivedi and her close aide
Ravi Shankar in his statement. The peddler has confirmed supplying cocaine to both Ravi Shankar and Ragini Dwivedi for the purpose of sale and consumption. It was further revealed that the cost for each gram was 6,000 rupees. The peddler has been in custody and has been questioned for a few days now. The cops are now trying to figure out whether Ravi Shankar was the link between the main peddler and Sandalwood and that aspect Times Now reveals would also be looked at.
Meanwhile, the ongoing drug scandal probe in Bengaluru witnessed actor couple
Diganth Manchale and
Aindrita Ray being called for questioning by Central Crime Branch. The couple appeared in front of the CCB officers as part of the inquiry being done in this case. This led to a lot of speculation on what their summons were for and whether they would see a fate similar to Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani. Although,
Sandeep Patil revealed that they had asked them to come for investigations regarding the ongoing case and that they will be sent word once again if need be for another round of inquiry.
Meanwhile, actress Ragini Dwivedi, who is currently housed as an under trial at the central jail at Parappana Agrahara following her being arrested on a suo motu case filed by the Central Crime Branch police under various sections of the NDPS Act as part of the ongoing drug scandal probe that links certain Kannada film industry members and drug abuse.
