Sandalwood stars encourage newbies

Bollywood filmmaker Kiran Rao’s endorsement for the film Ship of Theseus may have worked in its favour, but the concept of a well-known film personality speaking in favour of a film or cause is not alien to the film industry, especially Sandalwood.
For instance, actor-director Sudeep, who watched Jayatheertha’s upcoming film Tony, says, “Jayatheertha has tried to convey a message through the film, and he has succeeded.The film takes you through a rollercoaster of incidents, which may keep you guessing what he is trying to say. The clarity in the later part of the film leaves you with a satisfaction of having a good cup of coffee... a coffee that you have enjoyed so much that you don’t want to drink anything else for quite some time.” Sudeep’s not the only one who’s doing his bit for his colleagues. Puneeth Rajkumar:
The song Khali Quarter from Victory has several actors talking about the song, including Puneeth. He was also roped in to croon the title song for Tony.
Srinagara Kitty:
Kitty played a small role in Suni’s directorial debut Simplag Ond Love Story. We also hear that the actor didn’t charge for his work in the film.
Ravichandaran:
The actor, who has been supportive and open to accepting new talent, took time out to speak in favour of the film Gombegala Love.
Sudeep:
Apart from Tony, the actor has lent support to several other films. He even played a cameo in Chiranjeevi Sarja’s Varadanayaka.
