Sandalwood stars appeal to people to help Uttara Karnataka flood victims

Uttara Karnataka and the state's 10 districts are facing severe flooding with the Navy being called in to help in rescue and rehabilitation efforts. With social media abuzz with the dire situation in the state, several Sandalwood artists have stepped in to do their bit and also appeal to the people to help flood victims
Sudeep uploaded a video on his Twitter account and requested people to help those in need.

"Come and join hands with each other, helping the rain victims of North Karnataka. Donat the things which help people who are affected by rain, and protect them. He also thanked people for helping the flood victims," Navagraha Nayaka Jaggesh tweeted.

Sri Murali also took to Twitter to say, "Please post your phone number if you have any information on the current flood situation in Belgaum district."

"Many villages in our Northern Karnataka districts have been submerged in floodwaters. It is the duty of every man to stand up for the people there. Request everyone to do their best," Darshan tweeted.

Earlier on Monday, the Indian Meteorological Department in its weather forecast predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls at isolated places in parts of Karnataka over the next five days.
