Mourning the death of the actor, Srinath says, “In the first two movies that Vijay Reddy directed in Kannada, I acted as a hero. Since then our friendship started growing stronger. We used to speak over the phone at least once a month. When I spoke to him last, he had spoken about his ill-health. It is sad that we have lost a legendary director. As a person, he was very calm, always had a smile on his face and whatever be the circumstances, he never lost his temper. Let his soul rest in peace.”

The last movie that Vijay Reddy directed in Kannada was Vishnuvardhan starrer Karnataka Suputhra, which was released in 1996. Vijay Reddy was supposed to direct

Bhaktha Ambareesha
