The link between the Kannada film industry and the ongoing drug scandal probe has become a heated topic for discussion over the past couple of days. The first step towards the leads was when filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh volunteered to share information to the probing officers. Following that, he was called on for investigation once and subsequently revealed that he had shared names of around 15 actors who indulge in substance abuse.
Today, according to reports, actress Ragini Dwivedi was allegedly called on for investigation by the CCB at 10 am.
Reports suggest that she has apparently sent forth a notice through her lawyers that she wants some more time to arrive at the investigation as she was said to be unwell. There was also an investigation of her friend
Ravi Shankar, who is a clerk on RTO with regards to the use of drugs.
While Ragini was allegedly a no show at the probe, filmmaker
Indrajit Lankesh arrived on time for his 11.30 am interrogation. This was his second round of questioning by the CCB officers with regards to his revelations. He has told news channels that he is not scared about this as he is sharing the truth and he will not need protection for it either. He also cited the example of his father P Lankesh and sister Gouri Lankesh, both of who fought for the truth and had never feared anything in their lifetime.
There are reports suggesting that many other names from showbiz are also on the list for probing by the CCB officers and this will happen over the next few days.
