In the ongoing drug racket probe that links the
Kannada film industry
,
actor Diganth Manchale
has been called in for inquiry for the second time. The actor had appeared for an inquiry last week, when wife and
actress Aindrita Ray
was also called in for inquiry. This time around,
Diganth
got a sudden call instead of a prior notice like last time. Diganth, who was shooting for the film Marigold in Bengaluru, went to the
CCB office
directly from his film set. It is to be seen what this inquiry is for this time. The police had mentioned how Diganth would be called in once again, if need be after they had let him go after his inquiry.
Speaking to
Bangalore Times
about the previous inquiry, Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime,
Sandeep Patil, who is heading the investigations, had said, "There were questions that had to be addressed about certain aspects that came up on the course of the investigation, which went on for around four hours. Now, we will cross check what they have said and will call them back if required. We have taken their phones because a lot of content has been deleted, so that needs to be retrieved.".
Diganth and Aindrita, who had to push and shove their way into the CCB office amid a swarm of media last Wednesday, had a similar experience on their way out as well, following which the actress broke down. On his way out, Diganth told the media, "We have been cooperative through the investigations and will continue to do so. We will also appear before the CCB again if required."
