Sandalwood dancing to Neha’s tunes

It seems item songs (as special dance numbers are known as) have become an integral part of Sandalwood. Otherwise, why filmmakers are taking so much of trouble to come up with item songs in films.
An item number has become an essential formula for a movie to be a blockbuster. Thus filmmakers are leaving no stone unturned to picturize item songs. In fact, in recent times Mumbai-based dancer Neha has become a favourite among directors of Kannada film industry.
After doing an item number of Komal Kumar’s film Karodpathi, Neha is all set to sizzle on the silver screen with her dance steps for the second time in a row.
Sources say Neha has been roped in to do item number for Yogish film Kala Bhairava. The trend of having an item number in films was started by Bollywood during 60s. However, the craze for an item song among filmmakers took a new high in the last few years.
In fact, many top Bollywood actresses have done item numbers for films.
