Shivarajkumar said, “I got a chance to interact with Vijay when I shot for Killing Veerappan. He was a wonderful actor who always aspired to do different roles, which is a trademark of a wonderful actor. I was in awe of his performance in Naanu Avanalla Avalu, which deserved to get a National Award. He showed us what it takes to win a National Award. We lost him at a young age. Let his soul rest in peace.” Shivarajkumar has also requested people to wear helmets to prevent deaths in a road accident.

Actors Dhananjaya, Sathish Ninasam, director Guru Deshpande, Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar and many other Sandalwood personalities paid their last respects to Vijay.
