Sanam Shetty makes Sandalwood debut with Avinash's next

'The Bengaluru gal is elated to finally come to Sandalwood
Yet another software professional-turned-actor is Sandalwood-bound. Bengaluru lass Sanam Shetty, who worked briefly in the software industry, makes her debut here with the Kannada-Tamil bilingual Vara/Manju Virattu, which has

Avinash Narasimharaju

in the lead. The actress is elated, considering that she is getting to work in her mother tongue, Kannada, after successfully making a mark in the other south film industries.
'I've been a model since my college days in Bengaluru, which I continued even after I began working. My Tamil debut, Ambuli, in fact, happened after the makers saw a print campaign that I had done. I then got breaks in Telugu and Malayalam as well and am now back to my roots,' says Sanam.
The offer for the bilingual, meanwhile, happened because the actress knew the

Last Bus

team, including Avinash and his brother

SD Arvinda

, with whom she had worked on a couple of commercials. 'That apart, what also intrigued me is that my role is quite pivotal to the story, and that the project is a bilingual. I play a doctor who is Avinash's love interest,' Sanam explains.
