Actress Samyukta Hornad has been working closely with animals as well as some of the needy segments in the
film industry, during the pandemic. She has been actively involved as a Corona warrior and been a part of some of the task forces. She took it upon herself to put together a team of passionate individuals who ensured most of the stray animals in the city had the required food during the lockdown, when the city was deserted and no one was there to take care of these animals on the streets.
Samyukta also worked with many of the authorities, which included policemen, corporators and politicians to help reach the ones in need. She also reached out to the segments from the film industry who didn't have the means to sustain their livelihoods. Samyukta was also all praise for the kind of efforts and help that she received during the lockdown. In a video interview with us, she had previously said, "When compared to the other states Karnataka is doing fairly better. It is because of the people who are working together to fight Corona. I have had the privilege to meet some.of these unsung heroes, who are working for over 13 hours daily to fight this battle. Their generosity and personality has moved me so much, that I want to thank them for their good work."
And for all the initiative and the work that Samyukta seems to have put in along with her team, she received a certificate from the department of labour that acknowledged her work as a Corona warrior.
