Samarjit sings a hit from his father’s old film for his debut

For his upcoming launch pad, Gowri, Samarjit Lankesh has reprised the popular Hudugi Hudugi track from his father Indrajit Lankesh’s film, the Upendra and Deepika Padukone-starrer Aishwarya.

Samarjit says that it was the music director’s idea to have him sing this track. “When we decided to include an unplugged version of this song, it was music director Mathew Manu who suggested that I should sing it. The original was sung by Kunal Ganjawala sir and to think of reprising the same in my voice seemed daunting at first. Even though it’s an unplugged version, I didn’t want to take a chance and trained for it with the music composer before we recorded it,” he says.
